The Concise Saga of Mr Nicholas Bredimus — Inventor and Designer Extraordinaire
Hailing from New Jersey, Nicholas Bredimus brought the world of airlines, software, and hospitality together and revitalized these industries. He has been involved in a plethora of programs, from creating time-saving computer programs to improving aircraft safety and even designs for high-value homes. Bredimus has brought remarkable drive to all these fields, too. You could have foreseen, though, that with his pedigree he was a sure bet to reach prominence. His line can trace its origins as far back as the era of Rome’s glory and proudly boasts a varied mix of nationalities. His maternal family comes out of Germany and Scotland. An equivalently broad mix stands out in the paternal line; previous to their emigration in the late nineteenth century, Bredimus’ antecedents lived in Luxembourg and England.
And after emigration to the United States, the family maintained its immaculate work ethic and determination to thrive and survive. Born one of seven siblings — three boys and four girls — Nicholas had a father employed as a mechanical design engineer and a mother who worked as a practicing nurse. He would come to live in Kansas City, Arizona, Texas and a city called Reston in Virginia.
After the completion of his schooling, he found himself taking on a number of prominent jobs at some of the largest airlines. These included the title of Vice President for Hughes Airwest, Republic Airlines, and Trans World Airlines (TWA). An inspired software programmer, Bredimus’ creative approach to airline computer programs is arguably his trailblazing gift to the industry.
He is most famous for a project for US Airways, namely his aircraft maintenance computer programs which can now be found in use by almost all airlines. He went on to design numerous other computerized solutions for the hotel and airline sectors in addition, among them completely automatic routines for handling flight bookings, now in use at fifty or more businesses, and his innovative room reservation software on the PC used by the hotel industry, which was initially rolled out at over seven hundred hostelries. He went on to produce a piece of software called QuikTix, an automated ticketing network.
He employed these successes to advance into capacities not at all tied to software design, and we should observe that he continued to expand his reputation in these industries as well. With his own company, as a Division Manager with American Express, and as the founding president of AMR Travel Services his performance is impeccable.
Is he still active? Definitely so — his savvy is still very much ready to answer the call regardless his having left former interests in the past. He’s at work now at the forefront of building design — balancing the requirements of esthetics with increasingly sophisticated technology and bona fide ecological concern.
